Size & Care Guide
FEHINTI
PRODUCT, SIZING & HYGIENE POLICY
1. About This Policy
We want you to understand what you are buying and choose the product and size that is most likely to work for you.
This Product, Sizing & Hygiene Policy explains how Fehinti presents sizing, fit, fabrics and product information, as well as the hygiene and condition requirements that apply when products are tried on or returned.
This policy should be read together with the Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy and the product information displayed on the relevant product page.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.
2. Choosing Your Size
Please check the applicable Fehinti size guide before choosing your size.
Where a product has a size guide provided specifically for that style, please use that guide when selecting your size. Where no product-specific size guide is provided, our general Fehinti size guide should be used.
Fehinti carries different product categories, fabrics, cuts and silhouettes, so the fit of one style may differ from another even where both carry the same size label.
For this reason, we recommend checking the applicable size guide each time you purchase a new style rather than relying only on the size you have previously purchased from Fehinti.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Fehinti size guides are based on body measurements, not the finished measurements of the garment.
3. Understanding Our Size Guides
Fehinti size guides use body measurements unless a guide is expressly identified as showing garment measurements.
This means the measurements shown refer to the measurements of the person the garment is intended to fit. They are not the finished measurements of the garment itself.
The necessary ease, looseness, stretch or shaping is built into each product according to its design, fabric and intended fit. For example, a relaxed pyjama may be constructed larger than the corresponding body measurements, while a stretch or body-contouring garment may be constructed differently.
Customers should therefore compare their actual body measurements with the applicable Fehinti size guide rather than comparing the size guide directly with the measurements of another garment.
4. Taking Your Measurements
For the best size selection, measurements should be taken accurately and without pulling the measuring tape excessively tight.
Depending on the product, the relevant measurements may include bust/chest, underbust, waist, hip or other measurements shown in the applicable size guide.
Where a customer falls between sizes, any product-specific fit guidance displayed on the product page should also be considered.
If you are uncertain about your size, you may contact Fehinti Customer Care for guidance before ordering.
Any sizing assistance provided by Fehinti is intended to help the customer make an informed selection. Final fit can still be affected by individual body proportions, personal fit preference and the particular construction of the product.
5. Intended Fit
Some Fehinti products are deliberately designed to be relaxed, loose, flowing, fitted, supportive or body-contouring.
Where appropriate, the product page may describe the intended fit.
A garment fitting differently from another style is not by itself evidence of a manufacturing defect where the garment corresponds with its stated size, design and intended fit.
If the size is simply not right for you, the item may qualify for exchange in accordance with our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy, provided all applicable return conditions are met.
6. Natural Differences in Body Shape
Two people with similar bust, waist or hip measurements may experience the same garment differently because bodies have different proportions, heights, torso lengths, shoulder widths and distributions of body shape.
Size guides are therefore a sizing tool rather than a guarantee that every garment will sit identically on every person.
We encourage customers to consider both their measurements and the intended fit of the particular product.
7. Product Measurements
Where Fehinti chooses to provide the actual finished measurements of a garment in addition to the size guide, these will be identified as garment measurements or otherwise clearly distinguished from body measurements.
Unless expressly identified in this way, measurements shown in a Fehinti size guide should be understood as body measurements.
8. Fabric Composition
We aim to provide accurate information about the material or fabric composition of our products where that information is available and relevant.
Different fabrics naturally behave differently. Some may have stretch while others have little or none. Some may drape softly, have a smooth or silky hand-feel, crease more easily, have natural texture, or respond differently to washing and wear.
Customers should review the fabric and product information provided on the relevant product page before purchasing.
9. Colour Representation
We make reasonable efforts to display product colours accurately.
However, colour can appear slightly different depending on screen settings, device type, photography, lighting conditions and other display factors.
Minor differences between the colour shown on a screen and the physical product will not necessarily mean that the product is defective or incorrectly supplied.
A substantial colour difference or an incorrectly supplied colour will be handled appropriately under our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy and applicable consumer rights.
10. Production & Fabric Variations
Small variations may occur between production batches.
Depending on the product, these can include minor variations in shade, texture, print placement, pattern positioning or finishing.
For printed products, the exact position of a print or motif may vary from one garment to another where the fabric is cut from a repeating or non-placement print.
These natural or ordinary production variations are not necessarily defects where they do not materially affect the appearance, quality, use or description of the product.
11. Reasonable Manufacturing Tolerances
Garments are sewn products and very small measurement variations may occur during production.
A minor variation that falls within reasonable garment-production tolerances and does not materially affect the intended fit or quality of the product will not ordinarily constitute a manufacturing defect.
This does not apply where a garment has been incorrectly sized, materially misconstructed or otherwise fails to conform to the product supplied or described.
12. Trying On Clothing
We understand that customers may need to carefully try on eligible clothing to assess fit.
Where an item may be returned for voluntary exchange, it should be tried on carefully and only for as long as reasonably necessary to assess the fit.
The item must remain clean, unworn beyond the purpose of checking fit, unwashed, unaltered and free from stains, makeup, deodorant marks, perfume, body odour, pet hair or other signs of use.
Tags and applicable original packaging should remain intact in accordance with our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy.
13. Hygiene-Sensitive Products
For health and hygiene reasons, certain Fehinti products are classified as hygiene-sensitive products.
These include panties and underwear; shapewear designed to be worn directly against intimate areas; swimwear; and other intimate products expressly identified by Fehinti as hygiene-sensitive.
Because the hygienic condition of these products cannot be reliably verified after they have left Fehinti's custody, hygiene-sensitive products are not eligible for voluntary return or exchange after purchase.
Customers are therefore encouraged to review the applicable size guide and product information carefully before purchasing.
This hygiene restriction does not remove any applicable consumer right where an item was defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed.
14. In-Store Try-Ons of Hygiene-Sensitive Products
Where Fehinti permits a hygiene-sensitive product to be tried on in store, disposable protective clothing will be provided for the try-on.
Customers must use the protective clothing provided and follow any reasonable hygiene instructions given by Fehinti staff.
This allows customers to assess fit while protecting the hygienic condition of merchandise offered for sale.
Fehinti may decline a try-on where the required hygiene precautions cannot be followed.
15. Hygiene-Sensitive Products Purchased Online
Hygiene-sensitive products purchased online are not eligible for voluntary return or exchange.
Unlike an in-store fitting, Fehinti cannot supervise or verify how an intimate product has been handled or tried on once it has been delivered. For the protection of all customers, we therefore cannot accept these products back into saleable inventory simply because the customer selected the wrong size, changed their mind or would prefer another style or colour.
Customers purchasing hygiene-sensitive products online should carefully check the applicable Fehinti size guide and product information before completing their order and may contact Fehinti Customer Care for sizing assistance before purchasing.
This restriction does not apply where the product was defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed, or where another remedy is required under applicable consumer law.
16. Sleepwear, Loungewear, Robes & Slips
Pyjamas, robes, slips and ordinary loungewear are not classified as hygiene-sensitive products merely because they are sleepwear or are worn close to the body.
These products may qualify for voluntary exchange in accordance with our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy, provided they remain unused, unworn beyond what is reasonably necessary to assess fit, unwashed, unaltered and otherwise meet the applicable return conditions.
17. Tags & Packaging
Where an item is being returned for a voluntary exchange, all original tags should remain attached unless Fehinti expressly agrees otherwise.
Any protective packaging, hygiene protection or product-specific packaging required for hygienic or safe resale should also remain intact.
Opening ordinary outer delivery packaging solely to inspect the product does not by itself make a product ineligible for exchange.
The important consideration is whether the actual product remains in the condition required by our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy.
18. Products That Have Been Worn, Washed or Altered
Except where a statutory remedy applies because of a defect or other non-conformity, products will generally not qualify for voluntary exchange if they have been worn beyond what is reasonably necessary to check fit; washed or dry-cleaned; altered or adjusted; damaged after delivery; stained or soiled; exposed to strong perfume, deodorant, body odour or other substances; used; or otherwise changed from the condition in which they were supplied.
Fehinti may inspect returned items before approving an exchange or other voluntary return remedy.
19. Manufacturing Defects
A manufacturing defect may include a significant fault in the construction or manufacture of a product that existed when it was supplied.
Depending on the circumstances, examples may include faulty stitching, defective fastenings, holes or tears present at delivery, significant seam failure, material construction faults or another defect that materially affects the product's intended use or quality.
Whether something constitutes a manufacturing defect will depend on the product and the nature of the issue.
20. What Is Not Normally a Manufacturing Defect
The following will not ordinarily constitute a manufacturing defect by themselves: normal wear and tear; damage caused by improper washing or care; damage caused after delivery; alterations made by the customer or another person; misuse of the product; minor production variations that do not materially affect the product; normal characteristics of the particular fabric; a customer's change of preference; or a fit preference where the garment otherwise corresponds with its stated size and design.
This distinction does not prevent a customer from requesting a voluntary size exchange where the item meets the requirements of our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy.
21. Care Instructions
Customers should follow the care instructions supplied with the product or displayed on the applicable product page.
Different fabrics may require different washing, drying, ironing, steaming or storage methods.
Where a product is damaged because care instructions were not followed, the resulting damage will not ordinarily be treated as a manufacturing defect.
If a product fails despite being cared for appropriately and the problem appears to arise from its manufacture or quality, please contact Fehinti Customer Care.
22. Inspect Your Order
We encourage customers to inspect their order after delivery before washing, altering or extensively wearing the product.
If you believe you have received the wrong product, wrong size, damaged product or a product with a manufacturing defect, please contact Fehinti Customer Care promptly in accordance with our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy.
Where relevant, photographs or other reasonable information may be requested to help us assess the issue quickly.
23. Relationship With Our Returns Policy
This policy explains Fehinti's product, sizing, fit and hygiene standards.
Our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy governs how to request an exchange, applicable timeframes, return delivery, inspection, refunds, store credit and the allocation of return or replacement delivery costs.
Where you simply selected a size that does not fit as preferred, the voluntary exchange rules apply.
Where Fehinti supplied an incorrect, defective, damaged or materially misdescribed product, the applicable defect/non-conformity provisions and consumer rights apply instead.
24. Customer Care & Goodwill
We want customers to be happy with the products they purchase from Fehinti.
Where there is genuine uncertainty about sizing, fit, a product characteristic or a possible defect, we encourage customers to contact Customer Care rather than assuming that nothing can be done.
Fehinti may consider reasonable goodwill solutions in appropriate circumstances.
Any goodwill exception offered in one situation does not automatically change this policy or create an entitlement to the same exception in every situation.
25. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, waive or reduce any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.
In particular, Fehinti's sizing, hygiene, inspection and return-condition requirements should not be interpreted as allowing Fehinti to avoid responsibility for products that were defective, incorrectly supplied, damaged before delivery or materially different from what the customer purchased.
26. Contact
If you need help understanding a product's sizing, fit, fabric or hygiene requirements, please contact Fehinti Customer Care through the contact methods provided on our website.
Where possible, we recommend asking sizing questions before placing your order, particularly when purchasing a style or fabric you have not previously worn.
